A key empirical issue for researchers working on Cost of Crime Estimation is the degree of interest in their results shown by practitioners and policy makers in the Criminal Justice System. It cannot simply be assumed that estimates will be used once they have been developed.
As part of the MMECC project a brief informal survey was conducted of the extent and intensity of use of cost of crime information. Responses were received from a wide range of EU countries plus the US. There are links below to the questionnaire used and to a review of the responses received.
